Most living in Canada would agree that a crumbling infrastructure and healthcare shortages could justify adding bodies to the public rolls. But a deep dive into those jobs extolled by the PM shows an explosion of new positions, not in public works or the military, but in the vanity areas of DEI, gender equality and climate change.

The son of the President of the United States of America had just pled guilty to tax evasion for bribes he received from foreign adversaries in exchange for selling access to his father, the vice president at the time. This should have been the first, last and every question from ABC’s Mod Squad. Nope, let’s talk about Trump's long-dead father. 

What most people in the West agree on is that Vlad Putin is a bad dude. So bad that both sides of the divide insist their opponent is in the pocket of the man in the Kremlin. The Left is yet again saying Putin funnels money to Trump’s pocket while the Right insists that Putin is working the Obamites to end America’s energy hegemony. So it comes as a surprise when Alex Ovechkin’s favourite setup man actually nails a few home truths about what is happening socially in the Excited States, Canada and there EU.

The federal Liberal party has absconded to Halifax this past week for what they’re describing as a policy retreat. This should be good news for Canadians who want Justin Trudeau’s midwits to retreat from many of the policies they’ve adopted since 2015. But I suspect they mean something different. As always.

Between now and the election in November expect more Black Swan events to unsettle the public and advance the globalist agenda. During that time, never forget that confusion and chaos are the calling cards of the Far Left. Far from being a problem, the head-spinning reinvention of normal is their goal. Don't believe legacy media, they're happy for this.

While the sunglasses/ walkie-talkie dudes risked their lives, their superiors safely back in a DC office were cravenly insisting that they’d do better next time. Biden appointee Kim Cheatle claimed the mantle of “the buck stops here.” She promised transparency in finding out why her department had failed.  What she didn’t do was resign in shame for almost getting the former and likely future POTUS killed.

Whatever the LCBO strike result it’s a safe assumption that no one in the Canadian bureaucracy will be losing their jobs to the free market. The huge bumps in hiring since Covid show a colossus that has no intention of giving back its power to regulate. From liquor to climate Canadian politicians have ceded responsibility for areas that can be handled more efficiently and cheaply by civil servants and consultants.

By the late 1990s, social media had raised its insubordinate head with cheeky new academic and research sources on climate. The modern equivalent of Gutenberg’s press allowed common people to access news— without  the political and media intermediaries— and to make their own conclusions. The purchase of Twitter by iconoclast Elon Musk provided a further counter-argument to the hysterics in control at legacy media. This was intolerable to Steven Guilbeault..

In the impact of Biden’s incompetence the real loser was the Media Party who rule Washington D.C. After years of telling gullible viewers and readers that Biden’s stoned persona was a Republican construct they were exposed (again) as chancers and liars and reprehensible frauds. "Democracy Dies in Darkness they’d proclaimed. Bull.

While Sheila Copps tried to play the Libs as a plucky underdog, the party HQ threw everything and everyone into the riding to rescue her party from the hatred for Justin Trudeau. It wasn’t enough. In fact, their desperation worked against them.  The Forest Hill set, apprised of new capital-gains taxes, told cabinet ministers and other party hacks they’d rather boil in a Tim’s Dark Roast than support Sinbad the Black Face PM anymore. 

The voice on the other end of the line was grave. This retired financial executive says Canada is effectively bankrupt. He’s seen this coming after his almost 50 years in the Canadian industry. A decade of profligate government spending, Canada’s massive debts and electing activist politicians have brought Canada to a nasty place.

These are trying times for Clevers like Freeland, the army of technocrats, intellectuals, media grandees and social engineers who re-fashioned the Western World in their own image since the cultural revolutions of the 1960s. Their fashionable notions on society have replaced the discipline of inquiry with the stagecraft of political theatre. Talking down has replaced talking straight.

People have become more educated about the prevalence of doping in sport. We were quite naïve as Canadians, at least back in 1988. And we've learned a lot more since including that five of the other guys in that 100 metre final, became linked to doping infractions in some way. So it's a wiser population that thinks that Ben is interesting, and they want to know what’s happened to him.

The numbers are out, and it’s unanimous. If you’re a young couple with kids,  still want to buy a detached home in a location that has steady, well-paying jobs then Alberta remains the last refuge for Canada’s stressed-out middle class Millennials (those not in tent cities calling for the eradication of Israel).

For Canadians who think that rising commodity prices, carbon tax increases and  corruption of the federal government are their biggest concerns, we have news for them. If you listen to the bien pensants of Canadian media, the greatest threat to the nation is Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre.

Boomer spectators watching Seinfeld’s amusing 17-minute commencement speech at Duke probably summed it up for themselves by recalling the Seinfeld mantra, “It was a show about nothing.” And they’d be right. Jerry is the man for those times.
