Any warning system is only as good as the people operating it. Years of study, preparation and research are useless if the people at the receiving end panic and ignore the data. What is most stunning in these cases is the inability of these experts to face evidence of their own folly. And that is takeaway from the Covid-19 catastrophe.

Once, comedians were the last line of defence against political sanctimony. Lenny Bruce. Richard Pryor.Dave Chapelle. Larry David. Their acid observations on humans took the self importance out of many public figures. Now, people who make their livings as comedians must either adhere to the catechism of correctness or be cancelled between shows.

The federal Liberals— having time on their hands with, apparently, no vaccines to distribute— have decided that the people who brought you the Covid-19 catastrophe are the ones to decide what is permissible on the Internet. So they’re introducing a bill to promote “content moderation”

Social media seemed to be the antidote to the convergence of opinion. For a time it was. Podcasts. Twitter, Facebook surged with a range of opinions. A communications Renaissance was born. People were free to exercise their right of free speech. Not so fast. The problem was that social media quickly became captive of a few monopolies based in the Woke Silicon Valley.

You may ask why our Health® geniuses only have nifty colour code systems for #Covid-19? How come they don’t assign a perky colour code to tell us when the social cost of their virus obsession is dwarfed by the social, health, OD, suicide and educational impact of their actions? Having scotched the initial rollout from Covid-19 a year ago their sole preoccupation now is to justify the lockdowns, masks and draconian police-state tactics they’ve used to wrestle the virus.

If you want to know just how insane your world is going to be in five years, enroll in a liberal arts faculty today. It’s the coming attractions of the authoritarian class looking to ruin your life. Just so you won’t be surprised when they target you for re-education. But don’t say that too loudly to the SJW crowd in the media.

The political reaction of Canadian media to #Covid-19 collapsing their society was “Look at how crazy those American are!” Donald Trump and the fractious cultural war waged on U.S. cable news was heaven-sent for a prime minister hiding in a cottage and facing only scripted questions from the press. Raking Donald Trump kept the media heat off the hapless man in the low cottage— while also ennobling Canadian elites to their soul mates in the globalist movement.

Though writer/ director Aaron Sorkin vilifies Republican president Richard Nixon, the Chicago 7— plus Seale— are, ironically, protesting the Democratic Party’s pursuit of the Viet Nam War and its Dixiecrat base that invented Jim Crow. That is the same Democratic Party that now venerates the Chicago rioters as part of its iconography, its sainted past as progressives.

Citizens today see the creeping dementia of president Joe Biden and the blissful incompetence of PM Justin Trudeau and ask themselves, “This is the best we can do?” Where they once chose between dynamic leaders, voters now choose between the least offensive options. Democratization has morphed into demonization.

What the PM neglects to say is that his scapegoating of Snowbirds and other international travellers might have had an impact if it had been done a year ago at this time when the virus was not endemic.. But 2020 Trudeau thought shutting borders and blaming foreigners was racist and the China-run WHO said travel and masks was no big whoop.

You can’t argue the Left’s purported moral authority in a debate they’ve framed. Don’t cooperate in the farce. Go back to your home. Turn off the TV. Stop reading social media. And turn your music up loud.

Will the warnings from people such as former BMO CEO Tony Comper wake up the middle class to the impending cash grab on their retirement savings? Can the aimless Conservatives seize on Trudeau accessing retirement funds as a campaign issue? Will the progressive media even touch the story? Maybe. Who knows. And never.

If they were handing out holidays to celebrate the current African-American consciousness it would be Malcolm X Day, not MLK Day.
